Cycle of Life | A tale to remember | BluePencilSharpner

The beginning.

It all starts with a rain drop, falling all the way from sky. Almost coming in contact with chosen leaf of the tallest tree in the jungle. And that is how it all begins.

Life is so similar to that drop of rain, when it finds a way to the ground, by going through all the leaves it could touch. Almost as similar to the way we touch people’s lives.

The beginning is the part of everyone’s story which only few remember. The story when they took their first deep breath in the outer world. The little soul of yours, always fears to go out, to step out there and actually understand what’s it like to be there.

My favourite quote from “The lord of the ring” is what Bilbo Baggins tells Frodo Baggins, “It’s a dangerous business Frodo, going out your door, you step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off”

And that is the most beautiful truth I have ever heard. The root of your adventure is not actually the moment when you decide to step onto the road, but it is actually the courage, that made you take that step. The reason behind the whole story of your life will be the beginning of your story.

If it might make things sound a bit confusing than think of it this way. The drop of water which is trying to find its way through the maze of life, the reason behind its story is not the point where it reaches the chosen leaf of the tallest tree, but the moment when it falls from the sky, and the moment where the wind forces it to fall on that particular leaf.

In other words, that is exactly how destiny plays its cards.

The Choice

Different stories talk about different heroes, and what makes them hero is the choices they make. From the very beginning of almost every fairy tale, you will find almost no difference between the villain of the story and the hero of the story. But what makes the reader understand the difference is actually the choices they make.

And it doesn’t mean making the wrong choices makes you the villain of your story, it’s about understanding, what is wrong with the choice that you made?

My favourite quote from “Harry Potter Series” is what Albus Dumbledore tells Harry at the end of the second year, “It is our choices Harry, that shows us what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

Hypothetically speaking, if you might have the ability to be the best leader according to the theories of leadership and war, but if you don’t make the right choice, you may never be known as the great leader, and you might never become the hero of your own story.

The Mistake

From the path that you choose comes the platform where you commit your first of many mistakes. You try to make things better but somehow things keep getting worse. The mistake that you made, manipulates your thinking process, and you start to interpret that making this choice on the first place was your biggest mistake.

Hold on right there,

The mistakes are just a part of your life which teaches you to be a better version of yourself in future. Being regretful over the choices you made and thinking those were your mistake is the point where you have to understand this right here is the moment where your making another mistake. And maybe the stupidest of all.

The truth is our thinking process has evolved just the way we have. We try to look for openings from where we can escape from this big humiliation that we are facing right now.

But the more important thing is to “Set things right”, taking a chance.

My favourite quote from “How I met your mother” is what Ted Mosby says in his class, “If you’re not scared you are not taking a chance, and if you’re not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing, anyway?”

Now here is the place your life changes, here is the place you understand how to make things right.

The Confrontation

You have always been trying to just escape from the horrible things that you have already done, and you know the feeling where you feel horrible about it. You want to walk up to those people and actually tell then that how sorry you are for the things that happened, and how you would have done anything to prevent that from happening if you could. But now it’s too late.

But is it?

Every little essence of the stories you have lived, lives in the places and in the people,  you have lived those moments with. The essence of the stories that reminds you about the moments and the fact how you would have lived those moments differently.

To finally confront, is to grab those moments from the roots of their existence, and make the difference you need to make. Face the fact that you’re the one who created those moments and you will be the one who is going to set them right once again.

My favourite dialogue from The lion King” is what Rafiki tells Simba, “Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it.”

The End

Just before you understand that now you have set everything right, and now everything seems pretty good. And now you can actually take rest and go back to sleep.

You need to look around one last time. Look at the changes you have made, look at the people you have ever made happy, look at the hearts you broke, look at the learnings you have given, look the new world you have made since you have landed here.

Just as when Ferris, from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” says, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Because you just don’t want to miss any of it, for the one last time, look at it, and now you understand that you have reached the end of this cycle.

Now once again you will fall from the sky in the form of a rain drop and your journey will begin once again, once again you are going to choose things differently, you’ll make some mistakes again, you will confront the people you have ever hurt and set things right again, and just like that you will end again and again and again.
